Admissions Criteria

Medical Center Nursery School is open to children aged two through five years. Children must have turned two years-old before enrolling in the school.

Children should be able to participate in the activities of a regular, developmental early childhood program. All children must have a physical examination, and required immunizations before the date of entrance.

To apply, please use the MCNS application form at the link below (one separate application per child). Families can pay the non-refundable $60 application fee via our Zelle account, admissions@mcns.org. Those who prefer paper should mail a check along with the application to MCNS, 60 Haven Ave B1, New York, NY 10032.

Following receipt of the application, the Director, Tricia, will send an email to arrange an individual family tour of the facility.  Families with questions should feel free to contact Tricia at tricia@mcns.org or 212/304-7040.

MCNS follows the ISAAGNY Principles of Good Practice during the admissions process.

As a member of the Independent School Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY), Medical Center Nursery School follows the notification dates determined by ISAAGNY. For the 2026-2027 school year, general admissions applications are due by January 8, 2026. Notifications will be sent via email on February 26, 2026. Families who have applied for financial assistance will receive information about awards at the same time. Parent responses are due March 5, 2026. 

MCNS adopts a rolling admissions policy after ISAAGNY admissions deadlines have passed. Families are encouraged to inquire about the upcoming school year throughout the spring and summer.

Families with siblings and/or those currently affiliated with Columbia University/CUMIC have the option of early notification. If a qualifying family chooses an early decision for the 2026-2027 school year, applications must be submitted by Friday, November 14, 2025. Financial Aid applications must also be submitted by November 14, 2025. Acceptance notifications will be delivered on December 5, 2025. Parents must respond by noon on Friday, December 12.
